Roads To Nowhere

It was my son's birthday and we were out to celebrate. The evening was great. We spent some time in a gaming parlor, did some window shopping and also bought some toys for my son. He liked the yellow BMW M3 most. After the dinner we headed towards home. The cool breeze felt really pleasant.

So here we are about to reach home after a great evening. After this turn there is the street at the end of which, is the home. But hey there is a tent erected. Some Birthday party is on. So I take another turn. We will take a different route today. It adds another 500 meters but then its only 500. Another few meters and poof, there is a pooja stall. So you can’t go ahead on this street too. The third street is dug by Municipal Corporation for fixing the water line. On fourth there is a marriage procession. By this time I was getting impatient. It took half an hour to reach a distance which takes little less than 5 minutes.

The question here we should ask is WHY? Why don’t we think about people using the streets where we erect the tents without a notice? Should the govt. bodies (e.g. Police and Municipal Corporation) not take necessary steps to ensure no inconvenience to the people who walk on the streets daily?

I guess it takes a little from both sides. While Govt. bodies should have policies and measures to check this practice, people should also think from other people's perspective. I would do my bit, I'll research a bit to find out if there are any such policies and guidelines set by various govt. Bodies.
